National Fitness Institute offers an unparalleled personal trainer workshop, presented in partnership with the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF). Our results-driven live personal training workshop includes four power-packed sessions designed to arm you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to crush your certification exam and dominate your fitness career. Get ready to master your craft, stand out in the industry, and turn your passion into success!

Day 1: Health Screening & Evaluation, Weight Management, and Movement Analysis

Objectives

  • Understand the importance and procedures of pre-exercise health screenings and risk stratification.
  • Learn how to conduct client evaluations including medical history, PAR-Q, and lifestyle assessments.
  • Identify evidence-based strategies for weight management and behavior change.
  • Understand basic anthropometric assessments (e.g., BMI, body fat %, waist-to-hip ratio).
  • Review basic biomechanical principles and terminology.
  • Recognize common movement dysfunctions and their potential causes.

Day 2: Nutritional Science, Corrective Exercise, and Flexibility Training

Objectives

  • Explain foundational nutritional concepts and their application in fitness coaching.
  • Interpret basic dietary guidelines and educate clients on healthy eating patterns.
  • Understand common dietary supplements and their purported benefits.
  • Learn basic corrective exercises to improve posture, stability, and joint mechanics.
  • Demonstrate proper flexibility training techniques, including static, dynamic, and PNF stretching.

Day 3: Aerobic Exercise Prescription, Trunk Training, and Lower Body Training

Objectives

  • Understand principles of cardiorespiratory fitness and design safe aerobic programs.
  • Prescribe aerobic training using methods like heart rate zones, RPE, and talk test.
  • Learn and practice basic core stability and trunk strength exercises.
  • Learn proper form, technique, and progression for lower body exercises (e.g., squats, lunges, deadlifts).
  • Recognize lower body kinetic chain relationships and injury prevention strategies.

Day 4: Anaerobic Exercise Prescription, Upper Body Training, and Functional Training

Objectives

  • Understand anaerobic energy systems and their role in high-intensity training.
  • Customize training plans for various goals such as hypertrophy, strength, or endurance.
  • Create anaerobic training programs including intervals, sprints, and power-focused work.
  • Demonstrate upper body resistance training exercises with correct technique and progression.
  • Apply principles of functional training to enhance everyday movement, sport performance, and injury prevention.
Day 5: Exam (Optional)

For those that would like to take the exam in person, we can offer an opportunity to come in and take a proctored exam. You will need to bring your own personal laptop (no iPads) capable of internet access.
